Today is Green

Today the color green makes me happy.

With touches of light blue.

While I am out in San Fransisco I thought I would try to target my photo taking. I assure you that I will take far too many pictures, all of very common things because that is just the way I roll. But I thought I would try to do a few fun photo projects while on my trip (a common theme if you will). Here are some ideas. Let me know if you have more. I think I will probably pick about 5 in total.

  • color green or yellow
  • bicycles
  • windows
  • numbers
  • tree shadows

Cool idea to shoot themes.

How about cats? I remember seeing a lot of cats lounging around when I was in San Fran.

Also, street musicians or vendors.

You're going to have an amazing time! Have you been there before?

I love the idea of "planning" your photos ahead of time - genius!

Hope you have a wonderful time & that you get good weather!

random people. I've never been to San Francisco and would love to see what you think is neat about it.

Hmm...how about looking for signs of urban wildlife. Cats and more. Or maybe I'm just fixated on having watched "Wild Parrots of Telegraph Hill."

Heck, maybe the scope of wildlife could even include some of the people that others have suggested. ;)

The last time in was in SF, I had a wonderful time walking up the staircases on Telegraph Hill, up to the Coit Tower. Incredible plants and views!

I love San Francisco. I'm jealous that you get to go there. The themed photo's is a great idea. My daughter works at the local children's museum and they had these visiting photographers that took images of variety of items that looked like letters. They had the whole alphabet.
Also, please post your drawings. There is nothing more interesting that seeing how the creative mind works.

I love the idea of "themed" photographs... that would really help me focus in these situations!

I like your windows idea, but also Jacquie's suggestion of "doors." Does "architectural details" muddy the waters too much? Because we have SO many beautiful buildings here -- you'll want to photograph them all!

I don't know how many good "tree shadow" opportunities you'll have -- when will you be here? It's been pretty grey and is often foggy, so the tree shadows are not so much (at least, not for the first part of the day).

I'll keep thinking about good "theme-y" things for SF. I mean, besides hills. ;)

I was wondering, have you ever been to the columbarium in San Francisco?

Andrea: the columbarium looks really cool. I am adding it to my list.

Thanks for all the neat suggestions everyone. Now I have to figure out how to whittle them down.
