Ha, fun question! I am a bare-foot girl most of the time...

Thanks for hosting a fun giveaway! :) I always love reading your blog.

barefoot all the way!

I'd have to say barefoot, but that's because I barely ever wear shoes in the house. I know I'm going to step on a dropped pin one of these days.

I sew without shoes...maybe socks. I feel like I have better control of the presser foot without shoes on.

That is such a sweet quilt, too. I'm starting to decorate my daughters' room with small quilts.

Loving this questions as was just about to post about THE FEAR. I am so scared of using my machine because I just can't seem to control my foot pressure. (I wear shoes). The barefoot thing never even occurred to me but you bet I'll be giving it a try. Must get over THE FEAR :)

That is a fun question. And I think I might be the one with the weirder answer. I'm both. I use a slipper in the left foot and go barefoot on the right, the one I use to power the sewing machine. Quite weird really, because sometimes I walk around that way: one foot in slipper and the other barefoot... :D

I have better control over the pedal if I am barefoot and I get picked on at quilt classes.

Fun quilt! Fun blog!

I'm a barefoot sewer (or slippers if it's winter) and I always sew in my little sewing room

That quilt is so cute!

I used to be stocking-feet only (basically "barefoot"), but now I find that if I have shoes on, I'm fine.

Sometimes I go back to stocking feet though and think, "Oh, this really is better!" So I guess I'm a barefoot seamstress at heart.

socks if inside, barefoot outside (sometimes I'll lug the machine out to the back porch)
Sometimes my pedal gets toasty (my machine if from the 60s) I'll put in thin shoes!
Love the quilt! Great use of fabric and color. <3

barefoot...gotta feel that presser foot!

Beautiful work, as always!

I always sew barefoot (rarely with socks on), but only because my shoes come off the SECOND I walk through my front door.

Maggie's comment cracked me up, and along that line, I've worn shoes the few times I've taken a sewing class. Never thought to take them off, but I might next time!!

I live in Hawaii and we don't wear shoes in the house at all so it's definitely bare feet here.
Fun giveaway - thanks!

Usually if I have my shoes on when I sit down to sew, I leave them on. But only certain shoes like my ugly ass crocs. I cannot sew in those Nike Shox things to save my life.

Such a cute quilt! I sew with either slippers on or barefoot, but never with shoes on.

What? People sew with their shoes on? Ug. I only wear shoes to walk, run and excersise. In my pre-mommy days I was a highschool teacher and I even taught with my shoes off some days.

But then, in Canada its common practice to take your shoes off at the door.

I only sew with no shoes. I can't feel the presser foot with shoes on. Sometimes, If I only have a few minutes I'll only take off 1 shoe.

I am usually a bear-foot type of girl, unless my feet are cold then I just wear socks. I can't feel the presser foot as well with shoes on. Love the blog.

I'm definitely a barefoot sewer, but it's usually with one foot bare and a sock on the other foot. The quilt turned out soooo cute!

barefoot until my feet are too cold to stand it, then i go warm them up on my hubby's back - he loves it... hah :)

bare-foot or with socks (ooo...the ones with the non-slip bottom are the BEST...), never shoes because we don't wear shoes in the house! i have a HUGE fear of stepping on a pin too...esp since my studio is carpeted and they tend to hide!
LOVE your little quilt!

Barefoot or with socks only. I get funny looks at workshops but it is the only way I can do it!

I am a sock-clad sewer...kind of in between bare & shoed!

This is an amazingly generous giveaway you're having - the quilt is beautiful, please enter me!

Bare feet all the way. I acually like to curl my toes over the pedal a bit too. If I cannot find a pair of shoes they are usually under the table where the sewing machine lives. Sometimes there are more than one pair :)

Love the quilt! I started sewing again like a mad woman after my daughter was born. Some latent gene got turned on post birth!

bare foot. unless it is winter. then it is with slippers.

Mostly barefoot. Unless I was so excited to sew when I got home that I didn't bother to take off my shoes. But then the next time I sew barefoot I think about how gross it is that my shoe was all over the pedal.

Bec said...

Geez, I've never really thought about it. I guess it's whatever I have on my feet at the time, and if i am barefoot then barefoot it is. But usually I am wearing shoes...in fact, I've even sewed with heels on before....is that weird...?????

Memories Of Mine said...

I dont have a sewing machine :( It just a needle and thread for me but I'm always in sock - no shoes.

leslie said...

hmmm, i'd never given this much thought... i guess with shoes, or slippers, as that's what i wear around the house.

lovely quilt and great blog, by the way!
