Projects

Keeping my fabric store trips to a minimum has really forced me to try new things. I am loving it. As a quilter/hoarder I feel great pleasure using up what I have. I do wish I had a better stock pile of whites and off whites for borders.

I was so inspired by Tallgrass Prarie Studio's quilt that I made these rectangular blocks.

Seeing her quilt made me realize how little I've used long rectangular blocks.

I had all these green pieces leftover from this quilt. I made long strips from them and then cut the smaller sizes I needed for the rectangles. Super easy to do. I plan to only have six blocks in this quilt with really big borders.

I am so thrilled to finally have landed one of these cameras on ebay.

Polaroids here I come baby.

cool color combo! This quilt is going to be a winner. I really need to start playing with my scraps to make a new quilt...

Looking forward to what becomes of those pieces.

I'm going to use my next 40% off Joanns coupon to buy a few yards of a solid Kona fabric...maybe white or something that strikes my fancy. So I have it on hand for projects.

I also recently found 100% cotton twin sheets at IKEA for only a few dollars. I didn't buy a white one though. The fabric is a much tighter weave then typical quilting fabric which is nice but also makes sewing it a little different...need to get used to it.

Lovin' this color combo -- so springy.

Meanwhile, I hate to be the bearer of bad news as you celebrate your new Polaroid-y goodness, but... Polaroid has decided to stop making instant film. Boo hoo.

You can read all about it here. Be sure to stock up!

I love the green squares! Can't wait to see the finished product.

And I was also going to recommend stocking up on the Polaroid film. It's really too bad! (The camera itself is pretty cool looking though.)

can't wait to see what you do next with your rectangles!

Hope you have fun with your camera - I love the way the photos look & can't wait to see what you create!

{I remember when my Dad got our polaroid back in the day, I think I still have it somewhere. I hope I do...I remember it was white and the button you clicked was light blue.}

I love the green fabrics. I can't wait to see what you do with the blocks.

I have a Polaroid camera from the early 90's. I think I better stock up on some film while I still can!

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but I'd stock up on film if I were you. Polaroid is ending its production of instant film. Sorry.

Cracks me up that Kate and I said exactly the same thing -- same words and everything!

Meanwhile, if you want to join the "Save Polaroid" movement, check out:

Perhaps we can bring it back the way that we've [sort of] brought back Gocco?
